If you’re planning a visit to Hogsmeade, still expect to wait even longer to ride the new coaster.
Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure is easily one of Orlando’s best roller coasters. From surprising twists to stunning special effects, this story coaster almost has it all! However, the newest attraction to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter is still missing the mark with timeliness. Guests are still waiting several hours before riding mainly due to the coaster continuously stopping. While it’s still unclear why the ride has so many pauses, it appears that something is fundamentally wrong with the coasters themselves. The coaster trains may have to be entirely replaced soon. Thus, the ride must stop and have the trains switched for them to perform well. This means stopping the ride and changing vehicles often.
Shortly after the attraction’s opening in June, Universal finally addressed these issues. In a statement, the theme park announced that the “sophisticated, high-performance” ride needs maintenance. While we expected many of these issues to resolve before the end of the summer, they still persist today.
If you’re planning a trip to Universal’s Islands of Adventure this summer, expect a 1-3 hour wait for Hagrid’s Magical Creature Motorbike Adventure. You may want to plan an extra day if experiencing the coaster is on the top of your list.
Magic Tip: You won’t be able to take your bag with you on the ride. If you can, avoid bringing any bags or store them in the lockers nearby. Just keep in mind that the locker area can become quite crowded and larger bags may require cash payment.
