Epic Universe has its opening delayed as Universal Orlando’s upcoming third theme park stops construction. The resort’s parent company, Comcast, made the announcement this week.
Though Universal already began construction on the third theme park, construction was put on hold this week. Comcast reports that it expects to lose around $500 million due to theme park closures.
Epic Universe’s original debut date was 2023. However, Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings explained that construction likely wouldn’t resume for another year. Thus, we don’t anticipate Epic Universe reopening until 2024 or 2025.
