A review and walkthrough of the Tower Studio room in Disney’s Riviera Resort at the Walt Disney World Resort.
Having opened at the end of 2019, Disney’s Riviera Resort is the newest hotel at Walt Disney World. With beautiful, European Riviera themes and stylish rooms, this unique tower-style hotel has a lot of fantastic amenities. Its stunning pool and connection to the Disney Skyliner gondolas are some of the standout features of the his hotel.
However, one of the more unique aspects of Disney’s Riviera Resort are its Tower Studio rooms. These small (about 250 sq ft) rooms are much cheaper than most Deluxe Resort rooms. Disney Vacation Club members may also consider staying here as the rooms fewer points than most DVC properties. However, there are some important things to consider before booking.
First, the rooms are tiny. In fact, they are so small that Disney won’t book more than two guests in them at a time. While you may save $100 a night staying here, only do so if you don’t need much space.
Additionally, there’s only one bed—a Murphy bed. To save space, Disney designed the rooms with a lounging section including a couch and ottomans. However, when the bed pulls down from the wall, it squashes the couch and you’ll have to move the ottomans out of the way. Nevertheless, the queen-sized bed is super comfortable and fairly easy to pull down using the handles.
The room was very cozy, but had some great Disney touches like a Peter Pan mural behind the bed. We also loved the phone pockets and wall outlets next to the bed. These are only visible once the bed is pulled down from the wall.
Like all Disney Vacation Club properties, both DVC owners and standard guests can stay at this Resort. Additionally, homey features including a mini fridge and microwave are part of the room. While there is plenty of storage, there isn’t a kitchen of any kind. Instead, guests should upgrade to a standard room if you’d like a full kitchen and larger fridge. For many guests, eating in the rooms saves more money than the cost difference. Of course, that depends on your plans and how many people are staying with you (and how much they eat). There’s also not much space to eat in this room, unless you are okay eating at the small desk or using the ottomans as tables.
Other amenities include a wall-mounted TV, safe with codes, several built-in storage spaces, and a small office area with desk, chair, and outlets (including USB charging throughout the room).
The bathroom was the best part of the Tower Studio. It seems to take up about half of the space in the room, which is great for getting ready and relaxing. We loved that marble is everywhere in the bathroom. It covers the shower and the floors. Furthermore, there is a rain shower head and a removable standard one. There is a seat but no tub.
Finally, each room comes with a small balcony and two chairs. This room had a fantastic view of water and the Disney Skyliner station with easy access from a nearby stairwell. However, the Tower is a bit of a walking distance from the other amenities, including the pool, dining, and front desk.
