The popular Disneyland After Dark nights are back for 2020! This is great news for anyone wanting to see a different side of the theme parks with much fewer crowds. In 2019, Disneyland debuted 90’s Nite, Sweethearts Nite, and the Marvel-themed Heroes Assemble Nites—the first at Disney California Adventure. All of the nights were smash hits and filled with never-before-seen Disney concepts as well as nostalgic favorites.
Nostalgia, really, is the idea behind these events. For those who were in high school visiting Disneyland in the 80s, you’ll have a throwback nite so rad that it’ll blow your mind—dude! We attended 90s Nite last night and it was one of the best times we’ve had at Disneyland. We received special edition fanny packs, heard 90s tunes around the park, met rare characters like Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers, and even met Indiana Jones as he explored the Temple of the Forbidden Eye (we even got those decoder cards from when the ride first debuted)!
If all of this sounds appealing to you, then you should probably grab a ticket to one of these upcoming Disneyland After Dark nights:
2020 Events
80s Nite (Disneyland)
Wednesday, January 29, 2020 – 9pm to 1am
Special Attraction: The return of Videopolis, an 80s dance party held in the Fantasyland theatre!
Other attractions: 80s music, rare characters, keepsakes, photo ops, fireworks show, dance party with Minnie and friends in Tomorrowland, flashback food (extra cost), limited merch (extra cost). We also expect projections and special lighting for around the park. Dressing up in 80s gear is highly recommended!
Note: Entry begins at 6PM at Disneyland and the night promises shorter wait times for the rides. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance will not be open for the event.
Magic Tip: Review Disneyland’s dress code before you pick an outfit. Most of its common sense, but it’s always a good idea to see if there have been updates.
Sweethearts’ Nite (Disneyland)
Wednesday, February 12, 2020 & Thursday, February 13, 2020 — 9pm to 1am
The hook: Disneyland claims that love will be in the air as character couples like Aladdin and Jasmin and Belle and Beast stroll through the park. Think of this like a Valentine’s Day party!
Other attractions: Commemorative keepsake, romantic music, character meets, photo ops, fireworks show, romance food (extra cost), limited merch (extra cost).
Note: Entry begins at 6PM at Disneyland and tickets are very limited. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance will not be open for the event. In 2019, this event sold out weeks before the date.
PIXAR Nite (Disney California Adventure)
Thursday, March 5, 2020 — 8pm to Midnight
The hook: PIXAR characters parade around Disney California Adventure and offer guests shorter wait times.
Other attractions: Commemorative keepsake, photo ops, dance parties, Pixar character meets, food (extra cost), limited merch (extra cost).
Note: Entry begins at 5PM at DCA and tickets are very limited. Disneyland has also said that the dance parties will be “interactive” which we believe means you’ll dance with PIXAR characters. All of this sort of sounds like a new version of Pixar Fest but without the fireworks display.
Villains Nite (Disney California Adventure)
Thursday, April 30, 2020 — 9pm to 1AM
Special Attraction: A Disney villains-themed cabaret show!
Other attractions: Commemorative keepsake, photo ops, dance parties, sing-a-long, villains “lair” character meets, food (extra cost), limited merch (extra cost).
Note: Entry begins at 6PM at DCA and tickets are very limited. While we are a little bit worried that this event will feel like Oogie Boogie Bash (Disneyland Resort’s Halloween party), we’re excited to see how Disney villains will make this nite extra special. Dressing up is highly encouraged!
Disneyland After Dark Pricing
Each night is $109. Tickets are on sale now!

Magic Tip: We expect 80s Nite and Villains Nite to sell out faster than the others. This, of course, may prompt Disney to add more nights, but there is no telling if that will for sure happen. Either way, if you are desiring one of those two nights, book them early.
