Walt Disney World will lower its physical distancing markers from six feet at many spots around the theme park resort.
Guests visiting the Walt Disney World Resort may soon be standing a little closer than before. As the theme park resort heads toward the summer, physical distancing markers will be lowered from six feet at many locations.
Disney is currently inching toward a more crowded theme park experience. Right now the capacity remains at 35% for the parks. However, that may soon increase. As vaccinations rates rise throughout the country, cases are rapidly dropping.
Here’s what Disney World has posted on their website:
Temporary adjustments are still in place to promote physical distancing. While we will reduce physical distancing measures for Guests across many areas with a gradual, phased approach, six-feet distancing measures will continue in all dining locations, merchandise stores and in areas where Guests can temporarily remove their masks.

When the Walt Disney World Resort reopened in July of last years, countless markers were placed around the resort to ensure physical distancing. These lines show where guests can stand while they wait for attractions, dining, and transportation around the park. Evens some photo ops have these markers to keep guests spread apart.
However, with new CDC guidelines, as long as guests properly wear face coverings, they can stand a bit closer to other parties. During our recent visit to Walt Disney World in May, most guests appeared to ignore these physical distancing markers in the queues. Though Cast Members frequently reminded guests, it wasn’t always enough to help people abide by the rules.
