The Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts are now taking June 1, 2020 reservations for their hotels. However, here’s why you should be cautious of this date.
Though Disney recently announced that its theme parks would close “until further notice” is does seem like the company has a reopening date in mind. However, you should take caution before booking. Not only could this date get pushed back, but the theme parks may not reopen until much later. Therefore, you might stay at the hotels without having access to theme parks until they are ready.
While we’re not health experts, it doesn’t seem reasonable to think that in a couple of months that all will be well. With the threats of COVID-19 infection on the rise, we can see Disney bringing guests into its resort hotels while adding plenty of social distancing. However, at the parks, this isn’t as practical.
Still, there’s plenty to do at a Disney-owned hotel. With themed restaurants, expansive pools with waterslides, and top-notch service, booking a stay could still suit your travel needs. But if you’re looking to experience the theme parks this June, we don’t think that’ll happen. In fact, we don’t see destinations like Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom opening until later summer or later.

Furthermore, we don’t expect hotel prices to go down much during these times. Since the hotels will likely need to remain partially booked to keep up with social distancing, greatly discounting the rooms doesn’t seem like a good idea. However, you can save during summer with extended offers.
Additionally, guests who had their Disney World vacations cancelled due to the closure received exclusive offers including free dining. To get updates on the Disney reopening, sign up for our free e-mail newsletter! You can also follow us on Instagram and Twitter.
