Say good-bye to those little travel soaps and shampoos!
Taking home the little travel soap bottles has been a habit of ours since our first days in staying at Disney hotels. We even have soaps from Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Tokyo in our home bathrooms! Sometimes these bottles are just too cute to pass up while other times their floral fragrance fondly reminds us of our trip. Sadly, it seems, these days are now in the past.
In its effort to become a greener, more Earth-friendly company, Disney is doing away with many of its small, plastic containers. Now you’ll notice shampoo, condition, and body wash fixed on the walls of many showers and baths.
At first, we had a difficult time with this change. It seemed to cheapen the overall experience and possibly make things less sanitary. With that said, we really do enjoy these containers. The stainless steal tops and fixtures are classy looking and its easy to pump out what you need while in the shower. And, of course, we also love that these are much more environmentally friendly.
The Disneyland Resort is also part of this effort as new California laws come into place that seemingly force Disney to make this change. There’s still no word when all hotel rooms will finish receiving these upgrades. In the mean time, stock up on those little bottles!
Magic Tip: You can also ask mousekeeping if they have any remaining soaps, just be sure to tip when they drop them off! If you’re craving the hotel shampoo for home, you can find them online through Shop Disney!
