As guests worry about their health and safety, Disney Parks releases a full statement on their measures for the Coronavirus / COVID-19.
Our most recent trip to Walt Disney World was last week. Our visit to Disneyland was the week before that. We flew on plane, took the Magical Express, and stayed in Disney-owned hotels. As the media buzzes warns about novel coronavirus, we still took our trip.
Nevertheless, we probably washed our hands 2-3 times more than usual during out stay. And we’re usually pretty good about washing our hands. But as we snacked around EPCOT and dined in restaurants, we still took some extra precautions – just in case.
As your next trip nears, you may be worried about the same. How safe is a visit to Disney? Should you cancel your trip? We’d love to give some sound advice on this, but we’re not the experts. However, Disney Parks has released a statement with measures they’re taking to prevent germs spreading.
Disney parks are the cleanest theme parks we’ve ever experienced. So in terms of cleanliness, Disney has committed to stepping up their game even more. It’s always best to play is safe and we’re happy that they are doing so. Here’s a list of Disney’s commitments:
- Training for cast members, with ongoing reinforcement on a regular basis
- Defined cycles for frequent cleaning and disinfection of targeted areas
- Easy access to handwashing facilities and hand sanitizers
- Quick response to spills, trash and other situations
- End of day sanitation procedures for restroom, kitchen, and other facilities
- Frequent cleaning and “wash down” of outdoor locations, including walkways and queues
