Disney releases ‘Onward’ early for streaming on Disney+, April 3, 2020! The Disney/Pixar animated film was just in theaters beginning March 6, 2020.
Families will love this funny, action-packed adventure set in an urban fantasy. ‘Onward’ follows two elf brothers attempting to bring back their late father with an ancient spell. It’s a story about overcoming your fears, growing up, and the meaning of family.
We though that the movie was enchanting all the way through! Though a little formulaic, the voiceovers by Tom Holland, Chris Pratt, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Octavia Spencer were incredible.
The early release is a response to the COVID-19 virus pandemic. Since movie theaters closed alongside other public spaces, it was the company’s move to increase Disney+ account subscriptions. We expect more films, possibly even Marvel’s Black Widow, to head to Disney+ next.
If you’d like to see it sooner, the digital download will be available at 5PM EST at March 20, 2020 on most platforms such as Apple and Amazon. Digital market price is $19.99. Disney+ membership is available for $6.99 a month, or as add-on Disney+ to your Hulu account. Sign up here!
