Disney/Pixar Soul has a new release date. The film originally scheduled for summer 2020, will now debut in the fall 2020.
The highly anticipated Disney/Pixar Soul now opens on November 20, 2020. The animated film stars Jamie Foxx, Tina Fay, Phylicia Rashad, and Angela Bassett.
Soul explores consciousness versus body, similar to Pixar’s Inside Out. Pete Docter (who also directed and wrote Inside Out) helms this upcoming release. The animated film follows a middle school music teacher who faces death after his soul leaves his body.

Interestingly enough, Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails composed the score for the animated film. While Soul isn’t a musical, Reznor’s take on film scoring often feel ambient and wondrous.
Along with Soul, Disney’s Raya and the Last Dragon was pushed back March 12, 2021 (it was originally scheduled November 2020). Several other Marvel and Disney films have received a change in line up as theaters close due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
