Disney is offering Annual Pass refunds during theme park closures. If you’ve purchased a Walt Disney World or Disneyland Annual Passport, you may issued a partial refund.
Since shutting their gates in March 2020, Disney theme parks are now closed “until further notice.” For those who frequent the theme parks each year, what happens to your annual pass membership? Are you still paying monthly? How can you make up missed days? To answer these questions, Disney recently updated the rules on this as follows:
Extended Expiration Dates
If you have a valid annual pass while the theme parks are closed, your expiration date will be extended. Meaning, if the parks are closed for 90 days, you’ll have 90 days added to your pass. For example, if your pass usually expires in June, it now expires in September. You won’t see this change right away in your account, but it will be updated before the parks reopen.
Monthly Payments
If you chose to make monthly payments for your annual pass, you were previously required to continue those payments. However, Disney’s newest rule refunds payments made between March 14 and April 4, 2020. Payments will not resume until the parks reopen!
Partial Refunds
If you’ve paid for your annual pass in full, and want to cancel, you can request a partial refund. If you choose this option, your annual pass won’t extend and the refunded amount will depend on how many days left in your pass. This option is not yet available but will soon be online.
Disneyland Flex Passholder Reservations
Disney automatically cancels all Flex Pass reservations. However, you may cancel your reservations in the Disneyland app, if you choose to do so.
