Before last week, the Walt Disney World dining plans only came in three packages. Each of these packages were tailored depending on your dining interests. For those theme park hopping, the Quick Service Dining Plan was the most affordable and convenient choice. The other two, the Disney Dining Plan and the Deluxe Disney Dining Plan offered table service options..

However, there always seemed to be a missing step in the Disney Dining Plan. Guests already complain that the Disney Dining Plans have too much food and much of it goes to waste. So even if you’re planning on dining at restaurants throughout your stay, you may not know how many credits you’ll need.

That’s where the new Disney Dining Plan Plus option comes in. DDP Plus now offers your choice of either 2 quick service or table serve credits per day. You can use both for table service, both for quick service, or one for each.

At a cost of $94.60/night for adults and $35.00/night for kids 3-9, you’ll add a lot more flexibility to your trip. Currently, the standard DDP option is $78.01/night for adults and $30.51 for kids 3-9. Therefore, it’s a $17 increase for adults and a $5 increase for kids per night for the DDP Plus.

Overall, we believe that Walt Disney World needs more flexibility. With so much preplanning to enjoy the magic, last-minute plans usually only happen by luck. So, if you’re feeling indecisive, but don’t want to spend nearly as much on a Deluxe DDP, this is a fantastic in between choice.
