The incredibly popular San Diego Comic-Con has been cancelled for 2020. A new weekend has been set for July 22-25, 2021.

We love San Diego Comic-Con. It’s a time when many universes come together including Marvel, DC, Star Wars, movies, tv series, video games, and even Disney! While the event is extremely crowded and passes go fast, it’s an unforgettable time for any pop culture-loving geek.

With that said, we’re sad that SDCC won’t return this year. In its 50-year history, the non-profit convention has never cancelled a date. However, we are in unprecedented times, and, just like theme parks, conventions must close, too.

Those who scored badges to SDCC in 2020 have the option to refund or transfer their passes for the 2021 dates. This is both good and bad news, depending on how you look at it. Since Comic-Con is already challenging to get tickets, those who missed out on 2020 will likely have to wait until 2022 to try again. Of course, some badge-holders will refund their 2020 badge, but we don’t expect that number to be very high.

The same goes for WonderCon in Anaheim, which was originally postponed. The now-cancelled Orange County event offers pass transfers for its 2020 attendees to the March 26-28, 2021 weekend.
