The Blue Bayou Restaurant in Disneyland will soon be the theme park’s second location to serve alcohol to its guests.
It’s now abundantly clear that Disneyland has changed forever. Soon the world-famous theme park will serve alcohol in a classic restaurant. For many, this is a controversial move as Disneyland traditionally hasn’t sold adult beverages to the public.
However, when the Blue Bayou Restaurant reopens later this year, it will serve drinks for adults 21 and older. Beer, wine, and a specialty Hurricane Cocktail (a traditional New Orleans rum drink mixed with citrus juice and grenadine) are currently on the list. Disney says that alcoholic beverages have been requests by adults dining at the parks for quite sometime.
In addition, the Blue Bayou will serve favorites like the deep-fried Monte Cristo Sandwich and its popular Surf and Turf. Guests can also try “seasonal takes” on the Mint Julep.
Of course, Disneyland already went through a controversy with alcohol back in 2019. When the theme park opened Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, the Oga’s Cantina bar serves cocktails, beer, and wine for those of age. In addition, Disney California Adventure sells alcohol at several spots within the park.
