by BayMax and Sadness will soon leave Epcot character spots in 2020!
Epcot’s transformation is already having some casualties. On January 5, 2020, the meeting spots for several popular characters will close for good. BayMax from Big Hero 6 and Sadness from Inside Out are the first set to leave.
However, other popular characters will remain in the theme park. As construction continues to remake Epcot for the future, character greets have found temporary housing in new locations.
Mickey, Minnie, Daisy, and Joy are moving out to their new meeting spots starting Jan 5:
Mickey Mouse – Pixar Short Film Festival
Minnie Mouse – World Showcase Plaza gazebo
Daisy Duck – Future World East
Joy – Imagination Pavilion
While we’re happy that several characters will remain, we will miss the ones leaving. BayMax was a unique character greet in Epcot because his inflatable body felt extra huggable! At this time, there is no word if these characters will return. However, we do wonder if BayMax and Sadness will come back for Epcot’s upcoming Play Pavilion. Only time will tell and the Play Pavilion is set to open in 2021.
