It appears that Disney is targeting a new opening date for its upcoming Space 220 Restaurant at EPCOT in Walt Disney World.
Guests expecting to experience the new Space 220 at EPCOT this year may have to wait a bit longer. According to insiders, Disney is planning to open the restaurant in March 2021.
Space 220 is one of Disney’s latest attempts to “wow” its guests. The space station-themed restaurant propels guests 220 miles above the Earth to dine! Well, at least that’s how the story goes. As you can see from the concept art below, guests would see themselves shooting out of Orlando, Florida.
Originally, Space 220 was set to open at the end of 2019. However, the high tech restaurant was delayed, rumored due to staffing reasons. The restaurant was then expected to open in March 2020 but delayed due to park closures. Scott Gustin on Twitter shared the new expected timeline as well as details about the construction delays.

Space 220 simulates dining in outer space with a massive wrap around screen. As guests dine, they see the Earth from above, stars all around, and surprising guests like astronauts and Disney characters! Similar to the Coral Reef Restaurant in the Seas Pavilion but with a digital display instead.
