Fans wonder if Hocus Pocus Two is actually arriving. According to some major players, it appears that the film is in the works!
Good news for Hocus Pocus fans, the sequel appears to be in development! The Sanderson sisters are ready to fly again as Disney reportedly asked for their return. According to star, Bette Midler, “They want to make a movie, they’ve asked us if we were interested and of course all of us said yes.” That includes Sara Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy of the original cast.
While plot details have yet to be disclosed, reports say that the sequel is being ordered for Disney+. Furthermore, Adam Shankman (A Walk to Remember and Rock of Ages) might direct the film. No word if other stars from previous film reprising their roles.
The original Hocus Pocus opened in theaters in 1993. Though not a massive commercial success at the start, the film eventually established a cult following. Now the Sanderson witches appear everywhere during Halloween from merchandise to Walt Disney World where they’ve performed stage shows in past years.

The three actors reprised their roles in October 2020 for a virtual special. Since the announcement of the special, fans have been craving more witchy goodness. Luckily for us, Disney is ready to deliver. With the company’s new focus heavily on its streaming service, we expect to see the Hocus Pocus sequel out sooner than later.
