Cinderella Castle in the Magic Kingdom is getting a new look with golden hues! Expect construction in the coming months as Disney prepares the golden makeover.
The Magic Kingdom’s Cinderella Castle has been a staple since the park opened nearly 50 years ago. Now, Disney is updating her look with golden hues! The final look debuts in summer 2020.
The makeover coincides with the 70th anniversary of Walt Disney’s animated classic, Cinderella. The new look will also debut ahead of Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary next year – also known as a “golden” anniversary.
Scrims and scaffolding can be expected in the coming months. However, Disney announced that the “Happily Ever After” fireworks and “Mickey’s Royal Friendship Faire” will continue! We couldn’t imagine the Magic Kingdom without these shows.
Up until now, the most golden version of this castle was found at Tokyo Disneyland. However, the addition of the gold touches makes Magic Kingdom’s even more royal and stunning!
Disneyland gave its Sleeping Beauty Castle a similar golden makeover in 2019 as part of Project Stardust. The project was to spruce up some things within the theme park to accommodate guests ahead of Galaxy’s Edge. It appears that Walt Disney World is doing a similar task.
What do you think of Sleeping Beauty Castle’s new look? We would love to hear from, so please leave a comment in the section below!
