Has Disney chopped Mickey’s Halloween Party and canceled the event? We’ve found the answer to one of the resort’s most popular parties.
Every fall, hundreds of thousands of guests flock to Walt Disney World for Halloween festivities. By day, Mickey-shaped jack-o-lanterns and autumn leaves decorate Main Street, U.S.A. It’s both a happy and spooky time of year like no other! By night, regular park guests leave before sundown and the jack-o-lantern’s light. As they glow, a new flock of guests dressed in Halloween costumes pile into the Magic Kingdom. Suddenly, the lights go out and Disney villains take over, bringing to life a wicked evening filled with live shows, special attractions, and plenty of free candy!
However, all of these festivities are threatened by the COVID-19 outbreak. As Disney plans to reopen its theme parks starting on July 11th, it also cancelled many events—including Extra Magic Hours. So what will come of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party with dates that begin in August?
UPDATE: The Walt Disney World Resort has cancelled Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party for 2020. Disney made the tough decision because it can’t keep social distancing and have the major Halloween attractions including stage shows and fireworks.

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party dates originally ran from August through Halloween of 2020. If you’ve already purchased your Halloween Party ticket for the Magic Kingdom, Disney is offering refunds. Credit card purchases have automatic refund issued to the original card. Gift card purchases will be reimbursed via a new gift card code sent by email. For those who’ve paid cash, Disney will contact you by phone and issue a gift card or check. However, if you purchased your ticket via a third party or travel agent, contact the third party for your refund. All forms of refund will be issued in the next few weeks or so.
